Cubs | Soriano feeling good

Carrie Muskat, of MLB.com, reports Chicago Cubs OF Alfonso Soriano is feeling good entering the 2009 season and devoted a large amount of time in the offseason to strengthening his legs and both hitting and running. “I’ve got to find out what works,” Soriano said. “Every year, I get injured in my legs. I started one month before Spring Training [this time]. I feel very good right now, my leg has no pain, it’s not sore at all. I’m in good condition.”

Our Instinct:  There’s reason to believe that the 33 year old Soriano, who has avereaged 122 games the last 2 seasons can play in 140 or more this year with strong and fresh legs.  Don’t expect Soriano to return the huge stolen base guy he once was, but anyone who can steal 20-25 while hitting between 35-40 hr’s is ok in my book.  Mark him down for 675 points and $26 value.  He certainly a guy you could obtain for less and be rewarded for it.
