Mariners | Griffey to take team’s offer

Seattle Mariners

John Hickey, of the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, reports free-agent OF Ken Griffey Jr. (White Sox) has decided to accept the Seattle Mariners’ offer for a one-year, incentive-laden contract. It is believed his contract will be in the range of about $2 million with incentive clauses tied both to attendance and plate appearances or games played.

Our Instinct:  Wow – only hours ago I BLASTED Griffey for picking to play in the outfield in Atlanta instead of being the DH in Seattle.

I guess it only make sense that the Kid takes my words to heart.  Now, stop rolling your eyes and go mark him down on your buy low sleeper list.  With Griffey at DH, he has the chance of staying healthy and giving you 500-550 points and $16-$19 value.
