Angels | Morales being handed first base job

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim

The Los Angeles Times’ Mike DiGiovanna reports the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim are handing the starting first base job to 1B Kendry Morales and will probably stay in the lineup even if he struggles. The team doesn’t really have another option at the position. The Angels believe he can hit 20 homers and drive in 80-90 runs. “We’re not going to focus on how many home runs or RBIs he’s going to have,” manager Mike Scioscia said, “but I think he has the potential to open some eyes in 600 at-bats.”

Our Instinct:  The 20 hr’s and 80 rbi’s is a fair assessment.  Let’s see him get to 450 ab’s before we start talking about eye popping numbers from 600 ab’s.   Thanks for playing Mike.
