Braves | More on Francoeur
by George Utter on February 19, 2009

Updating a previous item, The Associated Press reports Atlanta Braves OF Jeff Francoeur can make an extra $25,000 if he reaches 685 plate appearances this year.
Our Instinct: What an odd incentive. Where did they come up with 685 ab’s I wonder? 599, 642, and 651 over the last 3 seasons. Look for Francoeur to reach 620 ab’s, 23 hr’s, and 85 rbi’s – which still doesn’t show a recovery in power numbers from 2006. Still, 540 points and a $18 value can probably be had for under $11….unless Jason Donnelly is in your league.

Thats funny!
If only he didnt swing at the first pitch of every at bat…hopefully he can turn it around at the plate, the Braves sure need him to
Nomar Garciaparra swings at the first pitch usually which didn’t hurt him until his body betrayed him. Just sayin’…
