Nationals | Zimmerman avoids arbitration
by George Utter on February 20, 2009

The Washington Post’s Chico Harlan reports the Washington Nationals avoided arbitration with 3B Ryan Zimmerman and signed him to a one-year, $3.325 million contract. He can make $175,000 in incentives.
Our Instinct: Zimmerman, who is only 24 will be a top 10 third baseman this season. A line of 600 ab, .295 avg, 90 runs, 95 rbi, and 23 hr seems likely. 600 points and $22 value seems reasonable, but you should be able to land him for $13-$16.

I like your instinct, George. I agree with the valuation and I would never suggest anyone going any higher than the window of BI13-BI16 that you bring up.
