After participating in on-field activities for four consecutive days, Boston Red Sox 3B Mike Lowell (hip) will get a day off Sunday, Feb. 22, according to Chris Forsberg of The Boston Globe. “He’ll do things inside, but he won’t be on the field,” manager Terry Francona said. “No setback, just the way we’d like it to progress.” Francona added that hitting coach Dave Magadan has been thrilled with his hitting, and that Lowell has been fielding ground balls, but isn’t diving yet.

Our Instinct:  If all goes well for Lowell he should be around the .280-20-90 mark.  With 500 ab’s, Lowell should put up around 500+ points and have $16-$18 value.  Coming off a down year he should go fairly cheap in most auctions – even in the auction full of sox-honkers.

Season hasn’t started yet, and he’s already getting days off. Sounds like good progress.
