Twins | Crede financial details
by George Utter on February 22, 2009

Updating previous reports, the Minnesota Twins have agreed to terms with free-agent 3B Joe Crede (White Sox) on a one-year contract with a base salary of $2.5 million, according to Scott Miller of CBSSports.com. The deal could be worth as much as $7 million if Crede reaches certain levels of plate appearances. He is expected to join the team in time for workouts Sunday, Feb. 22, and he has already passed three different physical examinations, according to sources.
Our Instinct: This is a low risk-medium rewards move for the Twins as they didn’t have any great options at third base. If Crede’s back hold’s out he could hit 20-25 hr’s in 400-430 ab’s, I think hoping for any more ab’s than that is unrealistic. He has $10-$15 potential, but anything over a $4 bid is asking for trouble.
