The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports Cleveland Indians SP Cliff Lee said the Indians have yet to discuss a contract extension with him. “I know Cliff wants to be here,” said manager Eric Wedge. “We want him here. We’ll see if it works out. There’s nothing that we have to do right now. We’ll let that stuff take care of itself.”
Our Instinct: There is one thing you can count on from the Indians, if Lee has another outstanding season, he will get dealt before he will get a contract with the them. He should be in for another fine season, however expect a drop in numbers. 200 ip, 18 wins, and 150 k’s is still a damn good season. 600-650 points and a $23 value is about where Lee will land, but don’t expect to sneak away with him for much less than that this season.
