Twins | Mauer takes 25 swings Tuesday
by George Utter on February 24, 2009

Updating a previous report, Kelly Thesier, of MLB.com, reports Minnesota Twins C Joe Mauer (kidney) took 25 swings off a batting tee Tuesday, Feb. 24, for the first time in roughly five months. Mauer indicated he did not feel any pain and he has been increasing the intensity of his workouts in the gym over the past few days. However, he has yet to do much running.
Our Instinct: Mauer should be good to go by the start of the season and will be the top catching option. Consider him a $24 value.
