About: I was born and raised in NYC. My father was a diehard Yankees fan but not biased and raised me to love the game more than any one team. For that I'm truly thankful to him.
My life consists of my Family and Baseball.
After 25 years in New York I moved to South Florida and found a love for the minor leagues and with that came my love for prospecting. Some call it Scouting. I just call it fun.See Authors Posts (117) On 25 Feb 2009.
Florida Marlins
The Miami Herald’s Barry Jackson reports Florida Marlins SP Anibal Sanchez altered his mechanics this winter after watching tape from 2006. “My shoulder is more loose than last year and my command is better,” Sanchez said.
Our Instinct: Sanchez is coming back from labrum surgery which is a nightmare for a pitcher. I would feel more confident in a return to peak performance if he had torn his UCL and had TJ surgery. The fact that he thinks shoulder feels better to this point that he feels raising his arm slot back to high 3/4 is a good sign. Keep a close eye on his rotation spot. He won’t rack up the innings in 2009 but should have a good k/9ratio if he is healthy. Good end gamer with upside, venture a few auction dollars and you might have a SP that can boost your year end production.
