The New York Post’s Joel Sherman reports former MLB C Mike Piazza said he was a clean player.
Our Instinct: Does anyone really believe that former players waiting to get into Cooperstown are going to confess to being a “dirty” player without evidence to the contrary? Again, Mike, it’s nice of you now to open your mouth, but where were you 4-10 years ago? Wouldn’t of made more sense to say “Hey I’m clean, but theres a lot of guys in the game that aren’t and we need to change this.” I’d have more respect for him and Cal Ripken if that was the case.
