Athletics | Braden to start Sunday
by George Utter on March 22, 2009
Oakland Athletics SP Dallas Braden (root canal) underwent a root canal operation Friday, March 20, making him unavailable to pitch against the Seattle Mariners Saturday, March 21, according to The Associated Press. He is expected to start Sunday, March 22, against the Chicago White Sox.
Our Instinct: Always fun to have a procedure like that when your trying to land a starting job on a major league roster. Braden should be the A’s 3rd or 4th starter depending on the health of Justin Duchscherer and could be worth $12-$15 for the season. You should be able to snag him up for $5 or less and would make a decent addition to the end of your pitching staff.
