Rays | Price to start against Yanks Sunday
by George Utter on March 22, 2009
Tampa Bay Rays SP David Price will start Sunday, March 22, against the New York Yankees, according to Marc Lancaster of The Tampa Tribune.
Our Instinct: Price is good enough to be in any rotation – now. The problem is that he still has options left and Both Jason Hammel and Jeff Niemann are out of options. If the Rays try to send either down, there is no doubt that another team will claim them, and both are too good of talents to let that happen to. Price will most likely follow the route that Evan Longoria did last season, come up later on. The Rays have so much pitching talent that it makes you sit back and laugh at the “Brian Rekar is the answer days. Don’t worry about Price, his time will come soon enough, despite being ready now.
