Phillies | Lidge records save Monday
by George Utter on April 14, 2009
The Associated Press reports Philadelphia Phillies RP Brad Lidge recorded the save after giving up two runs Monday, April 13. He has not blown a save since 2007.
Our Instinct: Water is wet, the sky is blue, ice is cold, and Brad Lidge didn’t blow a save. So what else is new? It’s hard to believe that Lidge blew 8 saves in 2007 with the Astros and was removed as the closer. Since his last blown save theres been over 320 blown saves by other major leaguers. It’s not just common to blow a save these days, it’s down right en vogue and Lidge is messing it up for everyone else.
