Cardinals | Lohse to have MRI taken of right knee
by George Utter on April 23, 2009
Derrick Goold, of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, reports St. Louis Cardinals SP Kyle Lohse (knee) will have an MRI taken of his right knee Thursday, April 23, after feeling a pop in the joint during the fifth inning of his game against the New York Mets. Lohse pitched to five batters after jamming the knee. Lohse said the knee was still sore after the game, but he hopes the pop was just fluid shifting in the knee and doesn’t expect anything to be damaged. Results of the test will not be known until Friday, April 24.
Our instinct: Loshe is off to a 3-0 start and has a 2.42 era in 26 innings. Though he doesn’t strikeout many, hes off to a good start and it would be ashame if he ends up on the DL from this. Stay tuned.
