Red Sox | Not involved with Damon
by George Utter on February 16, 2010
Peter Abraham, of The Boston Globe, reports the Boston Red Sox were never involved with free-agent OF Johnny Damon (Yankees), according to general manager Theo Epstein.
Our Instinct: Thanks for playing Theo. I think we all knew there was about as much chance of Damon coming back to the Red Sox as Manny Ramirez, Pedro Martinez, Roger Clemens, Bill Buckner, or Babe Ruth. Damon is looking more like a fit in Detroit or possibly Atlanta. Regardless of where he lands, he is likely a top 30 outfielder and should be in the $16-$18 range for 2010.
