Cubs | Big Z sends cutter packing
by George Utter on February 18, 2010
Cubs.MLB.com’s Carrie Muskat reports Chicago Cubs SP Carlos Zambrano said he has ditched his cutter. He said that was the one pitch he couldn’t control well.
Our Instinct: Zambrano has gone from being under valued to being over valued in fantasy baseball, points and otherwise. Fantasy owners need to understand when players are just not as good as they once were and that name alone isn’t enough to increase production. Zambrano isn’t a top 50 sp at this point and is more of a middle of the rotation option. He’s a $10-$14 value, but will go for much more than that in auctions. Don’t let it happen to you.
