Mariners | Cliff Lee to throw next week
by George Utter on February 18, 2010
CBSSports.com reports Seattle Mariners SP Cliff Lee (foot) is scheduled to throw his first bullpen session of the spring Wednesday, Feb. 24. “Cliff Lee will play catch, but other than that we’re going to try to keep him off his feet for a couple of days,” manager Don Wakamatsu said.
Our Instinct: Everything appears to be on schedule for Cliff Lee. He won’t get the run support he got in Phily, but it wont be horrible. Factor in that Safeco is one of the best pitchers parks and the #1 defense in baseball behind him – He will be in the Cy Young race all season. Put him down as a top 10-15 fantasy points SP and will be worth $22-$28.
