Mets | Jose Reyes feels like a little kid
by George Utter on February 18, 2010
The Bergen Record’s Steve Popper reports New York Mets SS Jose Reyes (hamstring) was as quick as anyone in his first drill Tuesday, Feb. 16. After the workout, Reyes said he felt like a little kid again.
Our Instinct: We will follow Jose Reyes closely this spring. If he has his 1st-step speed back and can steal 60 bases – hes an elite option at shortstop. If its off, even a little, hes a 40 stolen base guy, and unless he develops some power or hits for a higher average, hes a 2nd tier guy. It’s really the difference of a couple hundred points and many of your auction dollars.
