Royals | Guillen expected to arrive Monday
by George Utter on February 18, 2010
The Associated Press reports Kansas City Royals OF Jose Guillen was one of the few players who did not report to camp Wednesday, Feb. 17. However, he is expected to arrive Monday, Feb. 22, according to general manager Drayton Moore.
Our Instinct: Guillen was a total bust last season and has spent a large portion of his career on the IR. He’s never been able to string more than 2 healthy seasons in a row together. He has the ability to hit .290-25-100, but unless you can get him for $3-$4, he just isn’t worth the risk. It would of been nice to see a report showing in camp early and feeling good – just sayin’.
