Red Sox | We don’t need no stinkin’ insurance

WEEI.com’s Rob Bradford reports Boston Red Sox owner John Henry said the team generally doesn’t use insurance on their long-term deals because it isn’t always easy to get paid even when players get hurt.
Our Instinct: When I first read this I said to myself, “Wait..What?” However, John Henry has a luxury that only the New Yankees rival in: his team makes lots of money, and they can afford to eat a bad contract. No charge for that bit of genius folks.
