Geoff Baker, of The Seattle Times, reports Seattle Mariners P Mauricio Robles has been impressing the coaches in Spring Training this year. His fastball hits 97 mph and he has a devastating changeup. “I told him he had the stuff to get major league hitters out right now,” DH Mike Sweeney said. “I told him that if he kept working hard and worked at getting better every day, he would make it to the major leagues. He had tears in his eyes.”
Our Instinct: Robles isn’t one of the more mentioned prospect names in baseball, but with some serious heat and adding some control this year, he could find his way to the majors before too long.
