Ben Shpigel, of The New York Times, reports New York Yankees 1B Nick Johnson is the early favorite to be the team’s No. 2 hitter this year. He will be hitting second during the team’s spring game against the Philadelphia Phillies Thursday, March 4.
Our Instinct: This is a great opportunity for Nick Johnson. If he can stay healthy, he could have a career year. However, with Johnson, health is always a concern and there is a good chance that OF Curtis Granderson could be the no. 2 hitter.
