Reds | SP Aroldis Chapman Flashes Fastball
Cincinnati Reds LHP Aroldis Chapman struck out 2 in 2 innings of relief work against the Dodgers yesterday. The outing brings him to 4 Ks in 4 IP on the Spring. His fastball was once again clocked at near 100mph.
Our Instinct: Chapman’s blazing fastball has been on display and he’s quickly becoming a fan favorite amongst Reds fans. He is however still erratic with his slider control. Once Chapman can find a consistent release point for his slider that matches his fastball release he should move quickly and secure a rotation spot in Cincinnati. He has Ace potential but you have to remember how young he still is. He’s already at #49 on our Baseball Instinct Top 100 Prospects List. Keep an eye out for his prospect breakdown coming soon.

I was born and raised in NYC. My father was a diehard Yankees fan but not biased and raised me to love the game more than any one team. For that I'm truly thankful to him.
My love for the game runs deep, and after crunching numbers all day long, I tend to spend my nights at the FSL ballparks.
