Nationals | OF Elijah Dukes scratched from Saturday’s lineup
by George Utter on March 14, 2010
Washington Nationals OF Elijah Dukes (foot) was scratched from the starting lineup against the Houston Astros Saturday, March 13, because of a sore left foot, according to MLB.com’s Bill Ladson. He is expected to play against the Colorado Rockies Sunday, March 14. Dukes suffered the injury when he was hit by a pitched ball Monday, March 8.
Our Instinct: The 25 year old Dukes has talent, but will he ever use it remains to be seen. He hit .250-8-58-38-3 in 2009. Expect an improvement this year, but don’t expect him to be more than a utility option in most leagues.
