Red Sox | SP Daisuke Matsuzaka no go for BP
by George Utter on March 14, 2010
Updating previous reports, Boston Red Sox SP Daisuke Matsuzaka (neck) had his batting practice session canceled Saturday, March 13, because he experienced a stiff neck while warming up, according to The Boston Globe’s Peter Abraham. There is no timetable for when he will attempt to pitch again, but he is not expected to be ready in time for Opening Day.
Our Instinct: So much for the preseason hype about his work out program. Dice-K was already on the outside looking in on the top 50 pitchers in fantasy baseball. You shouldn’t be looking at him as more than a middle of the rotation option and should expect a discount on him.
