White Sox | OF Jared Mitchell Possibly Out for 2010
Chicago White Sox OF Jared Mitchell was carted off the field last night after making a diving catch and colliding with the outfield wall. The young OF tore a tendon in his left ankle and could miss the entire 2010 season.
Our Instinct: Jared Mitchell is the best athlete in the White Sox system and could be a 20/20 threat in time. He has plus speed and although still raw with his tools he has excellent upside potential as a CF. Unfortunately with an injury this serious we’re looking at a loss of very important development time for Mitchell. He has been moving smoothly through the system since being drafted last year. With raw tools like Mitchell’s development time in the minors to refine his tools into skills is key. So the White Sox need to hope for a quick recovery and at least some 2010 ABs for Mitchell. Mitchell was at #40 on our Preseason list for the Baseball Instinct Top 100 Prospects, but the injury could drop him into the 70′s.

I was born and raised in NYC. My father was a diehard Yankees fan but not biased and raised me to love the game more than any one team. For that I'm truly thankful to him.
My love for the game runs deep, and after crunching numbers all day long, I tend to spend my nights at the FSL ballparks.
