Detroit Tigers OF Austin Jackson to lead off for the Tigers. Jackson is batting .375 (18-for-48) with one home run, three RBI, three stolen bases, six walks and 11 runs scored this spring.
Our Instinct: Those of you expecting Curtis Granderson-like numbers from Austin Jackson need to get a grip. He simply doesn’t have his power. He’s a talented player with speed and has earned his shot at the starting CF job, but some growing pains are to be expected. The Tigers are pleased with him as their lead off guy, so he will have some value, but don’t go nuts trying to get him. Jackson is currently #80 on our Prospect Instinct: Top 100 prospects.
