Phillies | 1B Ryan Howard making teams pay

Philadelphia PhilliesRyan Howard continues to make teams pay for the big defensive shift they use when he bats. Howard went 2-5 with 2 rbi’s and a run scored as both rbi’s come when he singled into the hole where the SS usually plays. Howard is being more selective at the plate and driving the ball the other way early on this season and currently has a .378 batting average. (source – ThomasGeorge.com)

Our Instinct: The big man  has 3 hr’s, 7 runs scored, and 13 rbi’s to go with that .378 batting average.  What’s more impressive is that he only has 5 k’s on the season.  If it wasn’t for that Albert Pujols is from another plane of existence Howard would be an early MVP favorite.  He get’s Scott Olsen tonight whom he just crushes.  He’s 14 for 29 with 2 hr’s and 9 rbi’s lifetime vs Olsen.
