Red Sox | SP Jon Lester tosses one hit gem while knocking out 11 Blue Jays
by George Utter on April 29, 2010
Boston Red Sox SP Jon Lester limited the Toronto Blue Jays to 1 hit while shutting them out on 11 k’s Wednesday.
Our Instinct: Lester was a machine tonight. The only thing that got to him was a high pitch count. He gave up 2 walks to go along with the 1 hit, but was brilliant. He improved to 1-2 and lowered that nasty era down to 4.71. He’s got 32 k’s and 15 walks in 28.2 innings. After giving up 7 runs in 6 innings on April 18th, he’s now pitched 12.2 scoreless innings and seems to have turned the corner.
