Braves | Prospect SP Julio Teheran pitches shutout
by Aaron Bentley on May 27, 2010
Atlanta Braves SP prospect Julio Teheran surrendered no runs on four hits over six innings for Class-A Advanced Myrtle Beach.
Our Instinct: While the strikeouts were down this time out (he struck out 12 last game and only 2 this time around), Teheran continues to look even better since he was promoted. I hope the lower strikeout total this outing was an aberration as one red flag with Teheran has been a continuous decline in his strikeout rates each year he has been in the minors. Teheran was on his way to reversing that trend during his time in Rome and will hopefully continue that in Myrtle Beach.
