Cubs | SP Carlos Silva continues unexplainable success

by George Utter on May 29, 2010

Chicago CubsChicago Cubs SP Carlos Silva struck out 11 and walked no St. Louis Cardinals in a 2 hit, 5-0 shut out on Saturday.

Our Instinct:  The sublime continues to develop into the surreal.  Silva is now 7-0 with a 3.12 era, 42 k’s, and 11 walks in 60.2 innings on the season.  Don’t expect this type of strike out performance from Silva again, but hes been awfully consistent.  This time last year we were saying that he was, well, just awful.  Keep rolling with him for now, however, if you were looking for a good time to sell – this is the time.
