Angels | 2B Howie Kendrick carefully celebrates walk-off home run
by George Utter on May 31, 2010
Los Angeles Angels 2B Howie Kendrick doubled his season total by hitting two 2-run home runs, including a walk-off home run where he carefully crossed home plate then celebrated with teammates on the infield grass in light of 1B Kendry Morales breaking his ankle the night before celebrating his walk-off home run.
Our Instinct: Kendrick was taking no chances. He’s had a fairly unremarkable season, hitting .256 with 4 hr, 27 rbi, 22 runs, and 4 sb. Perhaps this will get him going. The 26 year old is an interesting buy low candidate. If he plays a full season, he could end up with 15 hr and 15 sb and hit around .300 and possibly score 90 runs. If you can get him for next to nothing, he may end up being an above average middle infield option.
