Texas Rangers SP prospect Robbie Ross picked up his 7th win of the year for Class-A Hickory.
Our Instinct: Lexington, KY native Robbie Ross went eight strong innings, giving up one hit and striking out 4. Ross has not maintained his 9+ K/9 from last year but he keeps his walks down and doesn’t give up a lot of hits. He also has not given up a home run all season because he keeps the ball on the ground. The easiest way to survive in the big leagues, and especially in Texas, is to strike hitters out and keep any batted balls on the ground. Keep an eye on Ross as he has a long way to go but could be the kind of pitcher the Rangers need.
