Rangers | OF Vladimir Guerrero on 2006 pace
by George Utter on June 8, 2010
Texas Rangers OF Vladimir Guerrero is enjoying being a Ranger. The 35 year old is on a pace to hit .333 with 35 hr, 138 rbi, 91 runs, and 12 sb. He posted similar numbers in 2006, though the rbi total would be a career best.
Our Instinct: Vlad isn’t likely to keep this up, and we seriously doubt he will steal 12 bases. He could stay above .300, but the hr and rbi totals should dip a bit. Vlad is an interesting case, if he can hold up a few more years and pad his numbers in Arlington, he should be able to punch his ticket to Cooperstown. He’s sitting on a career mark of .322, 419 hr, 1365 rbi, 1216 runs, and 179 sb. Breaking either the 500 hr or the 1500 rbi mark should get him in. Especially in the steroid era where his name has remained clean.
