Nationals | SP Stephen Strasburg dazzling debut
by George Utter on June 9, 2010
Washington Nationals SP Stephen Strasburg hurled 14 strikeouts while walking none and giving up 4 hits and 2 runs over 7 innings in his major league debut, defeating the Pittsburgh Pirates 5-2.
Our Instinct: Wow! Welcome to the majors Mr, Strasburg. How’s that for instant impact? Granted, it was the Pittsburgh Pirates, but come on – 14 k’s over 7 innings? The only downside I guess is he can only go down from here. You have to roll with him despite venue or match-up with this kind of debut. (Tommie’s Take – Strasburg should be owned in all Fantasy Leagues… yes, even Fantasy Football leagues.)
