Baltimore Orioles RP Alfredo Simon pitched 2 batters in the 8th inning and struck out both to get out of the inning, while RP David Hernandez fell to 2-6 on the season with a ninth inning blown save. Hernandez gave up 2 runs on 4 hits and a walk in the loss.
Our Instinct: Hernandez seems to be more suited for middle relief than starting or closing. Although, his 2-6 record and 4.88 era suggest he might not be suited for throwing batting practice. Alfredo Simon would seem to be working his way back into the ninth inning role.
