Braves | OF Jason Heyward to sit out weekend

Jason Heyward will sit out this weekend’s games and see a hand specialist about his sore left thumb.

Our Instinct: Mired in a month long slump the mental break will do him good and getting the thumb checked out to make sure there is nothing structural damage won’t hurt either. He’s had some torrid streaks along with some serious droughts this season but is still one of the most talented young hitters to come along in awhile. Keep him benched for now in fantasy leagues. But the first signs of life could mean some serious production is on the way.
