Diamondbacks SP Edwin Jackson struck out 6 and walked 8 batters in a 150 pitch no hit effort against the Tampa Bay Rays Friday Night.
Our Instinct: We get the excitement of pitching a no hitter, but how on earth Jackson got a no-no on 8 walks and throwing just 79 pitches for strikes is beyond us. More importantly though, why would you run him out there for 150 pitches? Grats to Jackson on the no hitter, but unless he gets an extra day off, you should consider benching him the next time out. Hopefully he ill be on a limited pitch count so that his arm doesn’t fall off.
