Phillies | Roy Halladay picks up win against team he has never faced before

by George Utter on June 26, 2010

Philadelphia PhilliesPhiladelphia Phillies SP Roy Halladay seven innings of 6 hit, 1 walk, 4 strikeout, shutout ball against his former team, the Toronto Blue Jays.

Our Instinct:  This wasn’t exactly vintage Roy Halladay, but we will take it.  Especially after serving up 5 home runs over his past 2 starts(8 total on the season), it was nice to see him not give up a gopher ball against his former mates.  He’s 9-6 with a 2.29 era, 102 k’s, and just 17 walks on the season.  Sure, he’s a little shaky this month, but he’s still an elite pitcher and in the mix for the NL CY Young award.
