Chicago White Sox SP Jake Peavy pitched 7 innings of 3 hit, 2 walk, 9 strike out, no run ball in a 6-0 win over the Chicago Cubs on Friday Night.
Our Instinct: Is Peavy back to being an elite pitcher? I’m not ready to commit to that statement with the 29 year old just yet. He has been very impressive in the month of June. In 4 starts this month, hes 3-1 and has given up just 4 runs, while walking 6, and striking out 24. He entered June with a lousy 6.23 era, but now is at 4.71. Over his last 2 starts he has gone 16 innings while giving up no runs, 6 hits, 4 walks, and striking out 16. He may not be back to an elite level pitcher after 4 games, but he is on fire and should be starting against any opponent.
