Blue Jays | Prospect SP Kyle Drabek fires no-hitter
by David Reiffer on July 5, 2010
New Hampshire Fisher Cats SP Kyle Drabek set off his own fireworks this Fourth of July with a no-hitter against the New Britain Rock Cats to end a personal 4-game skid.
Our Instinct: Entering the 2010 season, the son of former Cy Young winner Doug Drabeck was the top prospect in the Toronto system. Brett Wallace may have closed the gap a little. Drabek’s Double-A Eastern League line reads: 107 innings, 3.20 ERA, 45 BB, and 80 strikeouts. Developing a reliable change-up will go a long way in helping Drabek reach is #2 starter ceiling.
