Yankees | 3B Alex Rodriguez lacking power
by George Utter on July 21, 2010
New York Yankees 3B Alex Rodriguez has only 15 hr’s on the season and is in jeopardy of missing 30 hr’s in a season for the 1st time in 13 years and the 2nd time in his career.
Our Instinct: Is this the beginning of the end for the soon to be 35 year old Rodriguez? Hardly. While he is only hitting .274 with 15 hr’s, 48 runs, and 2 sb’s, he does have 78 rbi. He’s on a pace for .274-27-132-87-4. Except for rbi, those are career lows. We expect A-rod to pick it up a bit here in the 2nd half. A line of .285-35-135-90-6 is more of what we would expect.
