Minnesota Twins RP Matt Capps is thrilled to be with a team in contention, especially with how the Twins home crowd treated him on Friday. ”That was awesome,” Capps said right after he closed out his 1st American League save over the Seattle Mariners. ”I don’t think I’ve ever had an ovation quite like that. It gave me some goosebumps.”
Our Instinct: Twins fans are always loyal to their players, however how loyal the Twins management will be in the off season when he’s a free agent and RP Joe Nathan is set to return, remains to be seen. For now Capps is still the cream of the crop for closers this season.
