Detroit Tigers SP Rick Porcello picked up his 9th win of the season by pitching 8 innings of 4 hit no walk baseball. He also struck out 3 as the Tigers beat the Chicago White Sox 6-3 today.
Our Instinct: Porcello is 9-11 with a 5.10 era, 73 k’s, and 37 walks over 143 innings on the season. Not the season a lot of people had hoped for of the 21 year old. However, he has thrown 7 innings over his last 4 starts and we did advise before the summer began to be patient with the kid, he will eventually pay off.
