White Sox | SP Gavin Floyd not helping playoff cause

Chicago White SoxChicago White Sox SP Gavin Floyd gave up 5 runs on 13 hits and a walk in a 6-3 loss to the Detroit Tigers today.  He also struck out 3.  The White Sox have now dropped 3 in a row, while the Minnesota Twins have won 6 in a row and are running away with the division.

Our Instinct: Floyd is 2-4 over his last 4 starts – not what the White Sox need for their playoff hopes.  He’s now 10-11 with a 3.91 era, 147 k’s, and 56 walks over 182 innings on the season.  The 27 year old is likely to out pace his 2009 results, but is not going to come anywhere near the 17-8 mark he posted in 2008.  Still he’s a good SP in fantasy leagues and is right outside the top 40 looking in.
