Tampa Bay Rays 1B Carlos Pena hit .196 with 28 HR, 84 RBI, 64 RUNS, and 5 SB over 484 AB in 144 games for the 2010 season.
Our Instinct: The .196 average the 32 year old hit is just unacceptable. The .227 average last season was bad enough, but we over looked it because of the 39 HR he cranked out. He’s on a 4 year slide and going into free agency he may have to accept a 1 year deal. Though, theres several teams that are in need of power and may gamble on a 2 or 3 year deal with him. He wouldn’t be on our list for a starting 1B, unless you are talking about a 20 team league in 2011.
