Spring Training is a time of great joy across the baseball landscape. A time where legends are crafted, and hopes are either lifted or dashed. Every team starts spring training with the goal of a winning season. Cubs fans, in a manner routine every pre-season, are once again claiming that "this is the year". I certainly hope so. Every week another Cubs fan dies, disappointed.

Shortstop Jose Reyes ,of the New York Mets, today told reporters that he feels like a little kid in Port St. Lucie, Florida. In his first work out session of the spring, he was said to be very quick. How quick? That hasn't been mentioned yet, but it's a huge part of Jose Reyes' game and all eyes, including prospective fantasy owners, will be on Reyes this spring.

Last week, The United States government removed Leslie Anderson, a Cuban defector from it's blocked list. They no longer deem him as a threat to spread communism through out the western world, nor will he use his untold wealth-to-be to finance the Cuban government.

In life, we often don’t have a choice in who we love. The same holds true for fantasy baseball fans. Right or wrong, rational or irrational, we are drawn to certain players each season, maybe through hype or a glimpse of what could be from the previous season. What if this hitter got full-time at bats or that pitcher improve his command? Voila! A Man-crush begins. In this series of articles, I would like to spotlight just who you should be “crushing” on in 2009.

You would have to think after San Francisco Giants ace Tim Lincecum's first 2 starts this season someone must of ran an ad in the newspaper: LOST - THE FREAK. REWARD, call Giant's pitching coach Dave Righetti. After all, Lincecum stood with a 7.56 era in only 8.1 innings pitched through 2 games. That's not a very good start for the 2008 NL CY Young winner.

With the Fantasy Baseball Auction/Draft season on the horizon, I thought we should take a look at the players that produced so admirably last season. With that, we present the Baseball Instinct 2008 Fantasy All-Star team.

This seems like a pretty simple question, right? To me this sounds like, why is crossing the road when there are no cars coming smart? However, you would be surprised by the amount of people who cross the road in traffic, fantasy baseball speaking that is. What I mean by that is, the amount of people that I've known who continually go back to public leagues on assorted websites throughout theInternet , even though they consistently disappoint them is astounding. Why am I so outraged? Because I was one of these people as well for a long while.

As a precursor to this piece, I should stress that this is for those in the crowd who may not consider themselves the most experienced of fantasy baseball players. Or maybe those who have a busy lives and don't think that they can handle another fantasy baseball league. You may have stumbled across Baseball Instinct from a Google search for "fantasy baseball" for instance. Or maybe you found us on facebook. However you found this website, we are happy to greet you.
