A less touted HS arm in the 2009 draft was Madison Younginer and it wasn't because he lacked a power arm. A lack of exposure allowed the Red Sox to get what I believe to be a steal in Younginer. He throws a mid 90s fastball with good life and should easily add and additional 2-3 mph to that fastball as he matures.

About: I was born and raised in NYC. My father was a diehard Yankees fan but not biased and raised me to love the game more than any one team. For that I'm truly thankful to him. My life consists of my Family and Baseball. After 25 years in New York I moved to South Florida and found a love for the minor leagues and with that came my love for prospecting. Some call it Scouting. I just call it fun.See Authors Posts (34).

It won't take long for him to be ready and he will hit right out of the box, they just need to find his position. He's athletic enough to play CF and probably even learn 2B relatively quickly.

Posey is going to be a team leader. He's versatile, athletic and an excellent hitter. He is as close to a can't miss catcher as they come. Before we get into breaking down his swing let's take a quick look at the stat lines for his professional career thus far.

On most prospect lists, you will find Strasburg’s name in the top three, and usually you will find it sitting at number one. We have ranked Strasburg #2, and based on absolute upside, #1 or #2 is absolutely the perfect place for him. However, the other nine players in our top 10 are more likely to reach their ultimate long term upside than is Strasburg.

Somehow, Jason Heyward slipped to the 14th pick in the 2007 MLB Draft. Today, he stands alone as the best player in minor league baseball. But we are not here to tell you everything you already know about Heyward. There is no reason to spend paragraphs discussing how Heyward is a pure hitter with elite plate discipline and a strong throwing arm.

On April 3, 2009 ,JW Mitchell High School senior lefthander Patrick Schuster tossed a 17 strike out No-Hitter against Land O' Lakes High School in 7 innings, and if that didn't catch the scouts' eyes, he took the mound again 5 days later and proceeded to baffle River Ridge High School. Over 5 innings of work Schuster completed his second No-Hitter in as many games while striking out 10.

Baseball Instinct’s Top Prospect List is our view of the Prospect World. It takes into account amateur stats, Statistical Analysis and projection, Video screening, hundreds of hours of pouring over other experts views and opinions and many, many hours spent watching prospects come through the Florida State League. My daughter has been to more minor league games than 99.9% of Baseball Fans have. And she’s in Kindergarten. Our views will give the good, the bad and ugly on each prospect. It will also provide you with our opinion on how each team should go about with each prospects development and what they should key on for maximum production.
